I WANTED THE EARTH TO OPEN UP AND SWALLOW ME WHOLE/2022
Sculpture/Durational Performance
The one-hour durational performance investigates the materiality of the human body, presenting it as a living sculpture. Through a ritualistic process, the performance explores a quest for self-preservation. It confronts the complexities of body politics, shedding light on themes surrounding censorship and visibility. The material elements of the performance construct a composition that expresses an altar of selfhood—a suggestion that creation itself can become the ultimate medium for immortalization.
