Performance

The piece is an auto-fiction dance-theater piece that offers a glimpse into the thresholds of queer desire, intimacy, and possibility. Their first work together as collaborators, Demetris and Riven explore their relationship with desire as it rubs up against their various queer and immigrant identities. Fetish, objectification, and lust are at the center of the work’s thematic content as it draws from the duo's personal experiences of cruising, passing, fisting, and heartbreak to reimagine queer desire. This new work-in-progress paints a portrait of shifting power dynamics, agony, illumination, loss, and a queer yearning to reach into the unknown.
